This book drew me to tears several times, filled a void I didn’t know I had and gave me healing I didn’t know I needed. This story was told with a big dose of truth and empathy. Honestly, I stopped several times to cry, reflect and remember years I hadn’t thought about in decades. The book itself was written flawlessly with a good pace and characterizations which were spot on. There are some sad spots, but this is not a wallowing type of story. The ending was wonderful; I am looking forward to the second book of this set. If you are looking for an alternative read from your usual genre which is a short read filed with gems along the way, pick this up and settle down for a book which will not only please you, but make you feel. It did for me and I have nary a qualm recommending it to boys, girls, men and woman across the board. It’s a keeper!
